An article reposted to a group on a fixed schedule, monthly or weekly, carrying material every reader is meant to see: the FAQ, the charter, posting guidelines, or a list of related groups. An Expires header was normally set so the article stayed available until the next issue arrived. Automated scripts handled the schedule, and archives such as news.answers collected the results.
