Also known as: spoiler space
A notice at the top of an article warning that plot details follow, usually followed by blank lines, a form feed character that stops many readers from paging further, or ROT13 text. Groups discussing films, books, and television maintained their own conventions about how long after release the warning stayed mandatory. The practice began on Usenet and carried over into web forums and social media.
