Also known as: news archive
Any collection preserving Usenet articles beyond a server's retention window. Efforts range from the DejaNews corpus now held by Google, through the Internet Archive's copies of pre-1991 UUCP-era spools, to per-group mirrors run by individuals. Coverage is uneven and binary groups are generally excluded because of sheer size. X-No-Archive asked archivers to skip an article, though compliance was always voluntary.
